Samenvatting

Deze studiedag was onderdeel van het Curriculum persoonlijkheidsstoornissen, een initiatief van organisatiebureau Benecke N.I. en de psychiater Van Meekeren. Het curriculum omvat jaarlijks een viertal congressen over uiteenlopende aspecten van de behandeling van patiënten met persoonlijkheidsstoornissen. Sinds de voor deze patiënten ontwikkelde behandelwijzen de toets van de wetenschappelijke kritiek kunnen doorstaan, is de belangstelling voor de behandeling van persoonlijkheidsstoornissen opvallend toegenomen. Twee behandelmethoden hebben hun effectiviteit reeds bewezen: de dialectische behandelmethoden van Linehan (1993) en de op ‘mentalisering’ gebaseerde benadering van Bateman en Fonagy (2004).
