Psychoanalyse en middelenmisbruik

Theoretische beschouwing en praktische toepassing van een zelfpsychologisch model

Samenvatting

Het zelfpsychologische model neemt in de psychoanalytische theorievorming over verslaving een prominente plaats in. Recentelijk werd dit model verfijnd en uitgebreid door Ulman en Paul. Zij beschrijven verslaving als een narcistische gedragsstoornis die wordt begrepen binnen het narcistische uitwisselingsproces. In dit artikel lichten wij dit model verder toe en plaatsen wij er enkele kritische kanttekeningen bij. Aan de hand van eigen klinisch materiaal wordt ook de typologie van verslaving geïllustreerd.
