Probleemgedrag van kleuters op school en de relatie met ouderlijke opvoeding

Samenvatting

De band tussen moederlijke en vaderlijke opvoedingsstijl en probleemgedrag op school werd onderzocht in een groep van 84 kleuters (drie tot en met zes jaar). Een minder autoritatieve opvoeding door moeder voorspelde meer problemen van hyperactief-afleidbaar gedrag op school. Een meer permissieve opvoeding door vader voorspelde een hogere graad van vijandig-agressief gedrag op school, doch alleen wanneer die gecombineerd was met een meer permissieve, een minder autoritatieve of een minder autoritaire opvoeding door moeder. Verder bleek dat moeders doorgaans meer autoritatief, maar ook meer permissief en meer verbaal overreagerend waren dan vaders, en dat ouders doorgaans de meeste betrokkenheid toonden op kinderen van het eigen geslacht.
