Primaire polydipsie: excessieve waterinname bij een zuigeling

Samenvatting

We beschrijven een 9 maanden oude vrouwelijke zuigeling die zich presenteerde met symptomen van polydipsie en polyurie. Deze symptomen bleken het gevolg te zijn van excessieve toediening van vocht door de moeder. De moeder deed dit om het kind tevreden te stellen omdat het excessief huilde. Geleidelijke restrictie van de vloeistofinname resulteerde in het verdwijnen van de polyurie.
