Primair lymfoom van de prostaat

Samenvatting

Het primair lymfoom van de prostaat is een zeldzame aandoening. Toch dient aan deze diagnose gedacht te worden bij patiënten in de leeftijdscategorie 60 tot 70 jaar met een verhoogd prostaatspecifiek antigeen (PSA) of met lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Mede door het zeldzame karakter is weinig in de literatuur bekend over de prognose en is er geen consensus bij de behandeling van het primair lymfoom van de prostaat. Dit vergt een multidisciplinaire aanpak, een betere registratie, maar ook verder onderzoek.
