Samenvatting

In de beginjaren waarin orale implantaten werden toegepast (1980-1990), vond in onderzoeken meestal een zodanige selectie van patiënten plaats dat zelden mislukkingen werden gerapporteerd die terug te voeren waren op algemene gezondheidsproblemen of op lokale (anatomische) factoren van de behandelde patiënten (Albrektsson et al., 1988).
