Samenvatting

In Nederland wordt prenatale screening aangeboden voor de opsporing van een foetus met downsyndroom (trisomie 21), edwardssyndroom (trisomie 18) en patausyndroom (trisomie 13). De prevalentie van deze chromosomale afwijkingen is respectievelijk ongeveer l op 550, l op 8500 en 1 op 17.000.
