Perinatale torsio testis: nieuwe inzichten en beleidsadvies

Samenvatting

Een perinatale torsio is een zeldzame aandoening met een geringe kans op het redden van de testikel(s) bij neonatale spoedoperatie. Tevens is er een niet-verwaarloosbaar risico op asynchrone torsio van de contralaterale testis. Bij verdenking op perinatale torsio testis adviseren wij spoedoverleg met een kinderuroloog in een kindercentrum met neonatale anesthesie. Dan kan de mogelijke kans op het ‘redden’ van de testikel(s) ingeschat worden en een eventuele indicatie tot (semi)spoedoperatie bepaald worden. Het doel van een (semi)spoedoperatie is ‘redding’ van de aangedane testikel en/of het voorko’men van contralaterale torsio testis.
