Samenvatting

Het pericard is een niet-gevasculariseerde fibrotische zak dat om het hart ligt. Het grenst aan het sternum, het diafragma en het anterieure mediastinum en het verankert het hart met de grote vaten in de thoraxholte. Een deel van de vena cava ligt binnen het pericard, het linker atrium ligt grotendeels extrapericardiaal.
