4. Pathofysiologie van de kauwmusculatuur

Samenvatting

Dit hoofdstuk behandelt de pathofysiologie van de kauwmusculatuur. Er zal inzicht gegeven worden in de ontwikkeling van spierpijn/spiervermoeidheid in skeletspieren als gevolg van spierarbeid (acute en vertraagde inspanningsspierpijn) en van chronische spierpijn zonder duidelijke oorzaak (etiologie). Vervolgens zullen de consequenties van dit inzicht voor de kauwspieren worden besproken.
