Oxycodonafhankelijkheid en overdosering in Nederland: pleidooi voor een dwingender benadering

Samenvatting

In dit korte opinieartikel beschrijven we het toenemend gebruik van oxycodon als pijnstiller in Nederland en de gezondheidsrisico’s die daarmee gepaard gaan, zoals een aanzienlijke stijging in het aantal gerapporteerde overdoseringen en het grote risico op afhankelijkheid. Daarom pleiten wij voor een restrictiever voorschriftbeleid en het afbouwen van voorgeschreven doseringen, dit om een ‘opiaatepidemie’ in Nederland te voorkomen.
