Overzicht en kosteneffectiviteit van online rokeninterventies in Nederland

Samenvatting

Achtergrond

Stoppen-met-rokeninterventies hebben veel potentie om roken in Nederland te ontmoedigen.

Doel

Het doel van het onderzoek is om 1) een overzicht te geven van de online stoppen-met-rokeninterventies in Nederland (waarbij gekeken wordt naar effectiviteit, kosteneffectiviteit en de achterliggende theorie) en 2) te onderzoeken of het toevoegen van online stoppen-met-rokeninterventies aan het huidige pakket van rokeninterventies in Nederland kosteneffectief is.

Methode

Voor een inventaris van de Nederlandse online stoppen-met-rokeninterventies hebben we gebruikgemaakt van 1) wetenschappelijke literatuur, 2) grijze literatuur en 3) expertinput. Dit heeft 45 interventies opgeleverd, waarvan er zes in wetenschappelijke literatuur zijn beschreven. Geschikte onderzoeken werden gebruikt om met het EQUIPT-model de kosteneffectiviteit te berekenen van online stoppen-met-rokeninterventies, als toevoeging aan het bestaande pakket van dergelijke interventies in Nederland.

Resultaten

Slechts zes online stoppen-met-rokeninterventies werden in wetenschappelijke literatuur gevonden. Investeringen in dit soort interventies leidden al na één jaar tot lagere gezondheidszorgkosten en een hogere kwaliteit van leven.

Conclusie

Online stoppen-met-rokeninterventies – vooral de interactieve, op maat gesneden online interventies – kunnen in potentie een aanzienlijk kostenbesparend effect hebben.
