Outreaching: werken binnen de 'systems of care' filosofie in de kinder- en jeugd-GGZ

Samenvatting

Het concept van 'systems of care' komt tegemoet aan tekorten in de hulpverlening aan kinderen en jongeren met complexe psychische problemen. Op basis van ondermeer dit concept biedt het UZ Gent voor deze doelgroep een vorm van outreaching.

In 2002 startte de Belgische Federale Overheidsdienst Volksgezondheid met het pilootproject ‘GGZ-jeugd m.b.t. psychiatrische zorgen voor kinderen en jongeren in de thuissituatie door middel van outreaching’. Er werd voorzien in minstens één outreachteam per provincie. Momenteel zijn er 13 projecten actief. Aanvullend zijn er sinds 2007 ook 13 federaal gesubsidieerde outreachingprojecten actief voor de forensische jeugdpsychiatrische diensten (For-K) en de intensieve behandeleenheden (IBE). Op het niveau van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap werden intussen ook outreachingprojecten gestart voor jongeren in de Gemeenschapsvoorzieningen en de private voorzieningen van de Bijzondere Jeugdzorg en kunnen centra geestelijke gezondheidszorg eveneens outreachend werken.
