15 Optimale afname van cellen van de baarmoederhals voor cervixscreening

Samenvatting

Het resultaat van een baarmoederhals-screeningsprogramma is afhankelijk van veel factoren. Het is als een ketting waarvan de sterkte bepaald wordt door de zwakste schakel. De belangrijkste schakels daarbij zijn: een goede selectie van de te screenen vrouwen, een effectief systeem om deze vrouwen te bereiken, een optimale afnamekwaliteit, een screeningsonderzoek met optimale testeigenschappen, maximale reproduceerbaarheid van de screeningstest en ten slotte een adequate opvolging van vrouwen met een positieve screeningstest en een nauwgezette monitoring van het programma.
