Samenvatting

Een achillespeesblessure is meestal chronisch. Tot voor kort bestond er veel onduidelijkheid over de oorzaak en aard van deze aandoening en was het lastig hiervoor een adequate behandeling te geven. Recente publicaties verschaffen ons nu meer duidelijkheid: zo worden bijvoorbeeld goede resultaten beschreven van excentrisch toegepaste spierversterkende oefeningen. De literatuur over dit onderwerp is inmiddels dusdanig uitgebreid dat men kan spreken van een evidence-based therapie. Een concreet oefenprogramma voor behandeling van achillespeestendinose wordt in dit addendum besproken.
