Samenvatting

In deze casus wordt de fysiotherapeutische/kinesitherapeutische behandeling beschreven van een 72-jarige man. Hij heeft een medische behandeling voor darmkanker ondergaan en wil zijn conditie en spierkracht verbeteren, zodat hij zijn vrijwilligerswerk weer kan oppakken en naar zijn zus kan fietsen. Daarnaast wil meneer minder vermoeid zijn. Ook zal aandacht worden besteed aan het belang van het onderzoeken, monitoren en behandelen van kankergerelateerde vermoeidheid. Testen die bij hem worden afgenomen zijn onder andere handknijpkracht, Steep Ramp Test (SRT) en de, Multidimensionele Vermoeidheids Index (MVI). Daarnaast wordt de rol van spiereiwitten in skeletspieren belicht.
