Samenvatting

In dit hoofdstuk worden de diagnostiek en de medische behandeling van kanker besproken. Aan de hand van de bijwerkingen van kanker en van de medische behandelingen komen de fysiotherapeutische behandelopties aan de orde. Er wordt beoogd inzicht te geven in de complexiteit van de medische behandeling van kanker teneinde het gezondheidsprobleem van een geriatrische patiënt met kanker te beoordelen. De kennis uit de geriatriefysiotherapie en oncologiefysiotherapie worden hiertoe geïntegreerd.
