7. Obesitas

Samenvatting

Obesitas is een multicausale aandoening die leidt tot grote gezondheidsrisico’s en sterke afname van kwaliteit van leven. Bij de behandeling van obesitas biedt eHealth kansen, ook wat betreft de toegankelijkheid voor grotere groepen mensen. Interventies op basis van eHealth zullen altijd gebaseerd zijn op de pijlers van goede zorg voor obesitas: gedragsondersteuning, zelf monitoren en persoonlijke aandacht. Gedragsondersteuning kan met eHealth intensiever en langer worden ingezet dan zonder eHealth. Daarbij kan het hele systeem (gezin) worden betrokken. Monitoring van fysieke activiteit, gewicht en voedselinname is objectief mogelijk en persoonlijke feedback (bijvoorbeeld met SMS of app-berichten), mede op basis van persoonlijke berekende trajecten kan eraan gekoppeld worden. In de grote hoeveelheid van webbased applicaties kan het kiezen vergemakkelijkt worden door te letten op de aanwezigheid van een aantal relevante aandachtspunten.
