Samenvatting

Seksuele motivatie is meer dan dopaminerge stimulatie van het ventrale striatum, benadrukken Bruinsma en Loonen (2005) in hun reactie op ons artikel over seksueel verlangen (Both, Everaerd & Laan, 2005). Natuurlijk, zo eenvoudig stellen wij ons seksuele motivatie ook niet voor. Nadruk op bepaalde componenten van een model brengt met zich mee dat andere onderbelicht blijven, maar helpt wel om een boodschap kracht bij te zetten. En het aardige is dat het blijkbaar ook aanzet tot gedachtewisseling.
