13. Nervus facialis

Inleiding

Onderzoek aan de n. facialis kan worden verricht door directe stimulatie van de n. facialis, door naaldmyografisch onderzoek van de mimische spieren en door reflexmatige activatie na stimulatie van de n. trigeminus met behulp van de oogknipreflex. Klinisch neurofysiologisch onderzoek van de n. facialis kan van waarde zijn bij uitval van de n. facialis en bij hyperkinetische stoornissen in het gezicht. Enkele facetten van dit onderzoek worden besproken.
