Inleiding

Het diagnostische en therapeutische beleid van huisartsen, medisch specialisten en paramedici bij zowel acute als chronische lage rugpijn varieert aanzienlijk. Deze variatie ziet men zowel tussen als binnen beroepsgroepen. Ook tussen diverse landen bestaat een aanzienlijke variatie.1–3
