Berichten over multiresistente micro-organismen verschijnen bijna elke week in de media. Naast de reeds langer bekende multiresistente tuberculose en MRSA zien we met enige regelmaat ook ‘nieuwe’ varianten: u herinnert zich de uitbraak van EHEC in Duitsland afgelopen zomer, in september overleed iemand aan een besmetting met ESBL, en ook de Oxa-48Klebsiella pneumoniae in het Maasstad Ziekenhuis te Rotterdam is herhaaldelijk in het nieuws geweest. …
