4. Motivationele processen

Abstract

Denken en doen van de patiënt worden als belangrijke herstelbelemmerende of herstelbevorderende factoren gezien. Coachen van gezondheidsgedrag in de gewenste richting is niet gemakkelijk omdat er een brede kloof gaapt tussen weten en doen: de patiënt weet dat sporten goed voor hem is maar ligt toch elke avond uitgezakt op de bank. Motivatie is het construct dat dit gat kan dichten, motivational science is de tak van wetenschap die de kennis over motivationele processen aan-draagt. In dit hoofdstuk wordt een aantal theoretische aspecten van motivatie besproken en worden de praktische implicaties voor de fysiotherapie toegelicht.
