Methodisch podotherapeutisch handelen voor voet- en/of enkelklachten bij mensen met een reumatische aandoening

Samenvatting

Voet-, en enkelproblemen zijn een veelvoorkomend probleem bij mensen met een reumatische aandoening. Ze leiden vaak tot pijn en beperkingen in functioneren en hebben daardoor effect op de kwaliteit van leven. Er lijkt een grote variatie te zijn in het behandelen van de voet- en enkelproblemen door podotherapeuten bij mensen met een reumatische aandoening. Om meer uniformiteit te krijgen en de kwaliteit van zorg te verbeteren, is het methodisch podotherapeutisch handelen (MPH) voor mensen met een reumatische aandoening uitgewerkt en geëvalueerd in de praktijk. Podotherapeuten ervaarden het MPH als ondersteunend bij het klinisch redeneren. Barrières zijn in kaart gebracht en dienen aangepakt te worden voorafgaande aan landelijke implementatie. Of het gebruik van het MPH ook voor de patiënt van meerwaarde is, moet in nader onderzoek nog worden vastgesteld.
