Samenvatting

Het vervoer van een ic-patiënt kan noodzakelijk zijn als bepaalde apparatuur, zoals een CT-scan, niet aanwezig is op de ic. Als de patiënt wordt verplaatst binnen het ziekenhuis, spreken we van intraklinisch transport (IKT). Dit is een complexe manoeuvre met potentiële risico’s op complicaties die vaak wordt onderschat.₁ Altijd moet de afweging worden gemaakt of de noodzaak opweegt tegen het risico van het vervoer.
