Inleiding

Natuurlijk zien kinderen op tegen een plaatselijke verdoving. De tandarts kan daar op allerlei manieren mee omgaan. Hij moet het vertrouwen van het kind zien te winnen, een taal spreken die het kind begrijpt, een injectietechniek hanteren die effectief is en het kind geen pijn doet, maar ook mogelijke complicaties kennen en voorkomen. Tot slot is een empathische houding van groot belang.
