Multigroup Structural Equation Approach: Examing the Relationship among Family Socioeconomic Status, Parent-Child Interaction, and Academic Achievement Using TASA Samples

This study analyzed samples obtained from the Taiwan Assessment of Student Achievement (TASA). The relationship among family socioeconomic status, parent-child interaction, and academic achievement is examined using Structure Equation Models (SEM) approach. The model proposed in this study was verified by goodness of the model fit test, composite reliability, and convergent reliability. The results show that family socioeconomic status and parent-child relationship are positively correlated with student achievement. The Investments of children's educational resources, parents spending more time and have better interactions with their children are possible factors contributing to student's academic achievement.
