Narcizam u kontekstu psihološkog zdravlja adolescenata

Sažetak
Poslednjih godina se ličnost mladih u zapadnoj kulturi obeležava nazivom 'Ja- generacija'. Osnovne karakteristike mladih - visoko samopoštovanje, narcizam i individualizam - pripisuju se trendu u vaspitanju i obrazovanju tokom poslednjih decenija. S druge strane, samopoštovanje se smatra značajnim korelatom mentalnog zdravlja. Ciljevi ovog istraživanja jesu ispitivanje latentne strukture narcizma merenog Inventarom narcističke ličnosti (NPI-40) na uzorku adolescenata, opravdanost pretpostavke o adaptivnim i maladaptivnim aspektima narcizma, kao i odnos narcizma sa indikatorima mentalnog zdravlja u kontekstu racionalno-emotivne i kognitivno-bihejvioralne terapije (RE&CBT), kao što su: bezuslovno samoprihvatanje, samopoštovanje, samoefikasnost, pozitivan i negativn afekt i subjektivno blagostanje. Uzorak sačinjava 198 učenika srednjih škola, uzrasta 16-19 godina. Instrument NPI-40, korišćen za merenje narcizma, tu osobinu definiše kao supklinički fenomen i primenljiv je za istraživanja u opštoj populaciji. Provera latentne strukture instrumenta ukazuje na višedimenzionalnost konstrukta narcizma, ali s manje faktora nego u originalnom predlogu njegovih autora. Ekstrahovana su četiri faktora čije su veze s varijablama mentalnog zdravlja u potonjoj regresionoj analizi ukazale na prisutnost obrazaca koji se mogu interpretirati kao adaptivne i maladaptivne osobine narcizma.
