본 연구는 한국 청소년의 자살생각이 사회 문제의 중요한 원인이 되고 있는 현실을 문제 인식의 출발점으로 삼아 청소년의 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 살펴보고 이를 예방하기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위해 수행되었다. 본 연구는 한국복지패널 7차의 부가조사인 청소년 조사자료를 활용하여 청소년들이 경험하는 대표적 문제인 청소년기 학업스트레스와 학교유대감, 우울 및 불안, 자살생각의 구조적 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 학업스트레스와 학교유대감, 우울 및 불안, 자살생각의 경로를 검증하였고, 학교유대감과 우울 및 불안이 가지는 매개효과의 유의성을 검증하였다. 연구결과 학업스트레스는 자살생각에 직접 영향을 미치기 보다 학교 유대감과 우울 및 불안과 같은 정서 문제를 통하여 영향을 미쳤다. 즉 학업스트레스가 높아질수록 우울 및 불안감도 높아졌으며, 우울 및 불안감이 높은 경우 자살생각 수준도 높아졌다. 또한 학업스트레스가 자살생각에 미치는 영향에서 학교유대감과 우울 및 불안의 2중 매개효과가 검증되었다. 이로써 그동안 상대적으로 강조되지 못한 학교유대감이 청소년의 자살생각에 중요한 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인하였다. 자살예방을 위해서는 학교유대감 강화를 위한 방안을 모색하는 것이 필요하며, 우울 및 불안을 완화하기 위한 프로그램 제공의 필요성을 논의하였다.

This study was conducted to examine factors affecting the suicidal ideation of high school students in Korea. Suicidal problem of Korean adolescents was to be very important social issue. The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relations among adolescents’ academic stress, school connectedness, depression and anxiety, and suicidal ideation of adolescents; using KOWEPS 7th wave data. The results of this study were as follows : The direct path from academic stress to suicidal ideation was not significant, but it affected school emotional problems such as school bond, depression and anxiety. As academic stress was increased, depression and anxiety of adolescents was to be higher. In addition, higher academic stress made an negative effect on school connectedness. The double mediating effect of school connectedness, depression and anxiety was significant, too. Finally, we discussed that it was necessary to strengthen school bond, and programs to relieve depression and anxiety should be provided to prevent adolescents’ suicide.
