2022, Journal of Behavior Therapy and Experimental PsychiatryCitation Excerpt :CU-traits are associated with elevated antisocial behaviour, poorer response to treatment and etiology of conduct problems (e.g. Frick et al., 2014a; Haas et al., 2011). For example, elevated CU-traits not only predict increased severity and persistence of aggression and delinquency, but also predict whether adolescents are more likely to interface with the criminal justice system, abuse substances, engage in violent recidivism, and exhibit animal cruelty (Castagna et al., 2020; Christian et al., 1997; Dadds et al., 2006; Frick et al., 2003, 2014a, 2014b; Helseth et al., 2015; Wymbs et al., 2012). Distinctive CU-traits are present in approximately 32–46% of CD-patients (Herpers et al., 2012).
