2016, Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent PsychiatryThe outcomes of foster care in South Korea ten years after its foundation: A comparison with institutional care
2014, Children and Youth Services ReviewCitation Excerpt :K-CBCL is a Korean standardized form of the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL; Achenbach, 1991). CBCL has been widely used in research and clinical settings, and its validity has been reported by its authors (Achenbach, 1995; Achenbach & Howell, 1993) and hundreds of studies in various populations (Schmeck et al., 2001). In our study, we used K-CBCL subscales of depression/anxiety, delinquent and aggressive behaviors.
Examining spatial variations in the prevalence of mental health problems among 5-year-old children in Canada
2011, Social Science and MedicineCitation Excerpt :Teachers complete a paper or an electronic version of the questionnaire within the same 2-month period of the school year across the country (Janus et al., 2007). One of the EDI domains, emotional maturity, has been specifically designed to include problematic behaviours for this age group (Achenbach & Howell, 1993). Three subdomains of this domain: aggressive behaviour, hyperactive behaviour, and anxiety include the items relevant to children’s mental health in these three areas and were used to estimate the prevalence of behaviour problems.
Time trends in symptoms of mental illness in children and adolescents in Canada
2014, CMAJCitation Excerpt :We did find evidence of an increase in hyperactivity among participants aged 10–11 and 12–13 years. Several studies done in the United States and other countries have reported that the prevalence of mental health disorders in adolescents is increasing.3 –7 The current study contrasts with the previous literature by showing relatively stable or declining prevalence between 1994/95 and 2008/09.
