2014, Revista Espanola de Anestesiologia y ReanimacionCharacteristics of presumptive idiopathic disseminated intravascular coagulation during second-trimester induced abortion
2012, ContraceptionCitation Excerpt :As all 24 patients with presumptive DIC had abnormal clot observation tests before losing a substantial amount of blood (evaluated by serial hematocrits drawn at the center), we are confident that their inability to clot was due to a consumptive rather than a dilutional coagulopathy. Diagnosis of DIC can be elusive in its early presentation, especially if laboratory tests are relied upon for confirmation [6,10–12]. It is best to correlate laboratory values with clinical findings.
