Die deutsche Version des „Driving Cognitions Questionnaire“ (DCQ)

Übersetzung und psychometrische Validierung des DCQ zur Erfassung der Kognitionen bei Autofahrphobie

Zusammenfassung.Theoretischer Hintergrund: Die Kenntnis spezifischer Kognitionen autofahrphobischer Patient_innen kann zum Verständnis der Ätiologie der Autofahrphobie sowie deren differentialdiagnostischer Abgrenzung beitragen. Die Modifikation dysfunktionaler Kognitionen bei Autofahrphobie ist zudem Ziel kognitiv-behavioraler Therapien. Bisher liegt jedoch kein deutschsprachiges Messinstrument vor, um spezifische Kognitionen bei Autofahrphobie zu erfassen, sodass die Skala „Driving Cognitions Questionnaire“ (DCQ) von Ehlers et al. (2007) ins Deutsche übersetzt wurde. Erfasst werden panikbezogene Sorgen, unfallbezogene Sorgen und Sorgen über die Bewertung durch Andere. Ziel ist eine psychometrische Validierung der deutschen Übersetzung des DCQ. Methode: Der DCQ wurde 98 ambulanten Psychotherapiepatient_innen sowie 843 Personen im Rahmen einer Online-Erhebung vorgelegt. Zur Validierung des deutschsprachigen Messinstruments wurde eine gekürzte Adaptation des „Driving Situations Questionnaire“ (DSQ) von Ehlers, Hofmann, Herda & Roth (1994) sowie das „Brief Symptom Inventory 18“ (BSI-18) von Franke et al. (2011) herangezogen. Dargestellt werden sowohl item- und skalentheoretische Befunde als auch faktorenanalytische Ergebnisse. Ergebnis: Die exploratorische Faktorenanalyse bestätigt die dreifaktorielle Struktur der Originalversion und konfirmatorisch führt ein bifaktorielles Modell zu einem guten Fit. Es liegen Belege für eine gute Reliabilität (.86 ≤ α ≤ .89) und Validität vor. Schlussfolgerung: Die deutsche Version des DCQ ist sowohl für Forschung als auch für die klinische Praxis einsetzbar und kann als Grundlage für weitere Untersuchungen in Bereichen der Klassifikation, Ätiologie und der Entwicklung von Behandlungsansätzen genutzt werden.


Translation and Validation of a German Version of the Driving Cognitions Questionnaire

Abstract.Background: Knowledge about specific cognitions in driving-phobic patients can contribute toward our understanding of the etiology as well as the differential diagnoses of driving phobia. The modification of dysfunctional cognitions in the case of driving phobia is a goal of cognitive-behavioral therapies. Aim: To date, there is no German questionnaire to measure specific cognitions in driving phobia, thus necessitating a translation of the Driving Cognitions Questionnaire (DCQ) by Ehlers et al. (2007). It covers panic-related, accident-related, and social concerns. Our goal was the psychometric validation of the German translation of the DCQ. Method: The DCQ was presented to 98 patients of an outpatient clinic for psychotherapy as well as to 843 individuals through an online survey. For validation purposes of the German questionnaire, a shortened adaptation of the Driving Situations Questionnaire (DSQ) by Ehlers et al. (1994) and the Brief Symptom Inventory 18 (BSI-18) by Franke et al. (2011) were used. Values of items and scales and the results of factor analyses are presented. Results: Findings of an exploratory factor analysis confirmed the three-factor structure of the original scale, and in a confirmatory factor analysis, a bifactor model led to a good fit. Evidence for good reliability (.86 ≤ α ≤ .89) and validity was found. Conclusion: The German version of the DCQ can be used for further research as well as for clinical practice and can serve as a basis for future studies concerning the classification, etiology, and development of treatment approaches.
