Abstract
Abstract. Background: The KASI is the German translation of the ”Childhood Anxiety Sensitivity Index (CASI)” measuring anxiety sensitivity in children and adolescents. Objective: The psychometric properties of the Kinder-Angstsensitivitätsindex (KASI) were investigated. Methods: A total of 1,538 children and adolescents completed the questionnaire. Results: The internal consistency (Cronbach’s α) is high at α ≥ .79. Results show significant correlations between the KASI and other questionnaires measuring similar constructs (ACQ, BSQ) as well as panic symptoms, agoraphobic anxiety, and separation anxiety disorder. As expected, the correlations with specific and social phobia and depression are lower. Further, normative values for the KASI were collected from a sample of 1,235 students. Conclusions: The results presented confirm the reliability and validity of the KASI.
