Erziehungsstil aus Elternsicht

Deutsche erweiterte Version des Alabama Parenting Questionnaire für Grundschulkinder (DEAPQ-EL-GS)

Zusammenfassung. Eine deutschsprachige Übersetzung, Adaptation und Erweiterung des Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ; Frick, 1991) für Eltern von Kindern im Grundschulalter erfasst mit 40 Items die Dimensionen Positives Elternverhalten, Involviertheit, Geringes Monitoring, Inkonsistenz und Körperliches Strafen sowie die neu konstruierten Dimensionen „Machtvolle Durchsetzung” und „Verantwortungsbewusstes Elternverhalten”. Daten einer Stichprobe von 373 (319) Eltern von Kindern im Grundschulalter wurden zu zwei Messzeitpunkten im Abstand von 6 Monaten erhoben und mit konfirmatorischen Faktorenanalysen dimensionsanalytisch sowie auf Stabilität untersucht. Die psychometrischen Eigenschaften der ermittelten Skalen sind gut bis zufriedenstellend, die Stabilitätskoeffizienten liegen zwischen r = .57 bis r = .77. Es zeigen sich die erwarteten Validierungszusammenhänge mit Verhaltensauffälligkeiten sowie sozialen Kompetenzen: Inkonsistentes Erziehungsverhalten, Geringes Monitoring, Körperliches Strafen und Machtvolle Durchsetzung hängen reliabel mit Oppositionell-Aggressivem Verhalten, Hyperaktivität und Emotionalen Auffälligkeiten zusammen; Positives Elternverhalten, Verantwortungsbewusstes Elternverhalten und Involviertheit mit Sozial-Emotionalen Kompetenzen der Kinder. Unglücksempfinden in der Elternpartnerschaft geht im Sinne eines Spill-Over mit Inkonsistentem Erziehungsverhalten einher, Positives und Verantwortungsbewusstes Elternverhalten mit Glücksempfinden. Einflüssen einer Tendenz zur Sozialen Erwünschtheit unterliegen nur Skalen, die extrem negatives oder extrem positives Erziehungsverhalten messen (Inkonsistentes Elternverhalten bei Müttern und Vätern, Körperliches Strafen und Positives Elternverhalten bei Müttern).


Self-reported parenting style – German extended version of the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire for Elementary School Age Children (GEAPQ-P-ES)

Abstract. A 40-item German version of the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ; Frick, 1991) for parents of elementary school children was created by translating, adapting, and extending the original questionnaire to measure the dimensions of Positive Parenting Behavior, Involvement, (Poor) Monitoring, Inconsistent Discipline, and Corporal Punishment. Two additional scales were constructed to assess ”Authoritarian Parenting” and ”Responsible Parenting”. The instrument was administered twice within six months to N = 373 (319) parents of elementary school children. Factor analyses confirmed the seven dimensions; the psychometrical properties were good to satisfactory, with stabilities from r = .57 to r = .77. The validation with a German short version of the Child Behavior Checklist for non-clinical samples revealed the expected cross sectional relationships between Inconsistency, Poor Monitoring, Corporal Punishment, and Authoritarian Parenting with Hyperactivity, Oppositional-Defiant Behavior, and Social-Emotional Problems at both measurement points. Positive Parenting, Responsible Parenting and Involvement were related to children’s Social Competence. Consistent with a model of spill-over, Parents’ Overall Relationship Happiness was positively related to Positive and to Responsible Parenting, and negatively to Inconsistent Parenting. Social Desirability was significantly related positively to the extremely positive forms of Parenting and negatively to the extremely negative forms of Parenting (Inconsistent Parenting Behavior in mothers and fathers, Corporal Punishment and Positive Parenting Behavior in mothers).
