Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among women today. With early detection and advanced treatment options, survival rates are continuing to improve, but not without some long-term physical and emotional side effects. This article reviews the effects of breast cancer in general and breast cancer treatment specifically on sexuality in cancer survivors. How the cancer and its treatment may affect women at different ages is discussed. The psychological impact of cancer therapy on both the patient and her spouse are noted; and options for treatment interventions are reviewed.
