Case report

A 43-year-old, right-handed, stunt coordinator presented to the out-patients clinic, having been involved in an accident during a stunt 5 months previously, riding a motorcycle at moderate speed. He had hit a car and highsided, landing on the point of his left shoulder. There was immediate pain in the shoulder with numbness of the arm and weakness of all shoulder movements. Discussion

In 1937, Liberson7 wrote of a case in which he was involved giving an a expert opinion. A 38-year-old longshoreman had injured his shoulder and radiographs appeared to show a fracture of the acromion. Liberson disproved the case by taking radiographs of both shoulders in the supero-inferior position. These showed bilateral symmetrical gaps in the acromion, ie, os acromiale.
