Meditation induced psychosis: Case report

Case

A 31 years old male, software engineer, unemployed for last 2 years (as he was preparing for civil services examination), with an urban background of lower middle socioeconomic status was brought to our psychiatry department in an agitated state by family members. They reported that around 10 days back patient attended a meditation camp where he spent 6 days following which patient claimed to have spiritual experience in form of hearing some musical sound. He felt some strange energy around him
