Young adult e-cigarette use outcome expectancies: Validity of a revised scale and a short scale
2018, Addictive BehaviorsCitation Excerpt :We did not find significant associations between negative outcome expectancies and e-cigarette use dependence, except for the association between addiction concern and dependence. The latter is plausible because research shows that youth who are more dependent on a substance are more likely to be concerned about their addiction (Sussman & Dent, 1996; Sussman, Dent, & Galaif, 1997). We will need a future longitudinal study to examine how addiction concerns are related to e-cigarette use progression over time.
