This methodological challenge, as well as the dependency on infant behavioural state (Hadders-Algra, Nakae, Van Eykern, Klip-Van den Nieuwendijk, & Prechtl, 1993; Prechtl, 1992), is demonstrated by the number of videos unable to be included for analysis in the studies included in this review, with mean 31 % (range 5 %–75 %) excluded. Concurrent measurement using a second video camera or wearable sensors may provide additional data on areas of interest when capturing infant movements using 2D video (Rahmati et al., 2015).
