The Effect of the Cognitive-behavioral Model-based Psychoeducation and Exercise Intervention on Quality of Life in Alcohol Use Disorder
2017, Archives of Psychiatric NursingCitation Excerpt :QoL is determined by a range of parameters, including the ability to function in physical, familial, social, marital and professional contexts. The WHO has stated that the impairment of these same parameters is an integral component of alcoholism (Babor, Kranzler, & Kadden, 1986). With increasing progression of the disorder and due to additional coexisting psychological and physical diseases of patients, their lifestyle is characterized by social isolation, physical inactivity, as well as depression, anxiety, pain, sleeplessness, antisocial behavior that in turn leads to an overall decreasing quality of life (Ginieri-Coccossis, Liappas, Tzavellas, Triantafillou, & Soldatos, 2007; Lahmek et al., 2009; Levola, Aalto, Holopainen, Cieza, & Pitkänen, 2014; Malet, Llorca, Beringuier, Lehert, & Falissard, 2006; Rosenbloom et al., 2007; Vancampfort et al., 2015).
