The concept of DD was first introduced by economists, as a theoretical model called “Discounted Utility Model” during the first half of the last century (Bleichrodt and Gafni, 1996). Economists suggested that DD is processed based on consumption profiles known as continuity, transitivity, and completeness (Attema et al., 2018; Heilmann, 2017).
