Similarly, Risley and Wolf (1967) demonstrated the ability to teach language, and Risley (1968) successfully treated stereotypies. By 1970 over 100 behaviorally based treatment studies were available in the literature and by 1980 this total of studies had doubled (DeMyer, Hingtgen, & Jackson, 1981).
