Samenvatting
Veel mensen hebben atriumfibrilleren (AF) zonder dat hun arts of zijzelf het weten. Mensen met AF hebben een vijfmaal hoger risico op een ischemisch cerebrovasculair accident (CVA), meer kans op hartfalen, een hogere mortaliteit en een lagere kwaliteit van leven dan mensen zonder AF. Kunnen eenvoudige medische hulpmiddelen zorgen voor vroege opsporing van AF?
