The original version of the article was published online first without correcting some issues. The institution of first author (Akira Hasegawa) is Department of Psychology, International University of Health and Welfare. Faculty of Human Relations, Tokai Gakuin University is not the current institution of first author, and therefore, has been deleted.
For items with correlation coefficients of less than 0.20 with reassurance-seeking behaviors in Table 3, their correlations and 95% confidence intervals need to be marked with a gray marker. Similarly, for an item with a correlation coefficient of less than 0.20 with inattention in Table 4, and for items with correlation coefficients of 0.20 or more with reassurance-seeking behaviors and inattention in Table 5, their correlations and 95% confidence intervals need to be marked with a gray marker. Furthermore, one of 95% confidence intervals in Table 4 (i.e., [–0.14, 0.16]) and a correlation coefficient (i.e., − 0.02) in Table 5 were written on two lines in the original version of the article. These values should be written on one line. These issues have been corrected with this erratum.
In addition, the second line from the top left of Table 1 is superfluous and has been removed. Furthermore, the names of the variables in Tables 2 and 6 were incorrectly broken and have been corrected.
The Supplementary Material 1 has been removed as it is a file that did not need to be uploaded online. In table S1 of the Supplementary Material 2 (since the Supplementary Material 1 was deleted, “the Supplementary Material 2” was moved up to become “the Supplementary Material 1” in the revised article), t-value of “Depressive symptoms” was significant at the 5% level but not at the 1% level. Therefore, the t-value for this variable went from two asterisks to one.
