EBP en vraaggerichtheid: een paar apart?

samenvatting

In evidence-based practice (EBP) worden beslissingen genomen op basis van de volgende elementen: wetenschappelijk bewijs, kennis en ervaring van de paramedicus en waarde(n) en voorkeur van de cliënt. Bij vraaggerichtheid gaat het om het geven van zorg die tegemoetkomt aan de wensen en voorkeuren van de cliënt en die tevens voldoet aan professionele standaarden. Bij de ontwikkeling en implementatie van EBP ligt de nadruk momenteel sterk op de wetenschappelijke instrumentele dimensies (literatuur search, methodologie). Het aspect van vraaggerichtheid lijkt zich als ‘zachte kant’ los daarvan te ontwikkelen. EPB en vraaggerichtheid lijken een paar apart, maar zijn twee kanten van dezelfde medaille. Gepleit wordt voor een samenhangende ontwikkeling waarbij wordt aangesloten bij de ontwikkelingen in de ‘shared decision making’. Enkele handreikingen worden geboden om binnen EBP tot gezamenlijke besluitvorming te komen over de zorgverlening aan cliënten.
