Transference focused psychotherapy.

Een op de overdracht gerichte psychoanalytische psychotherapie voor borderlinepatiënten

Samenvatting

Naast de reeds bestaande steunende behandelingen voor de borderlinepersoonlijkheidsstoornis is er recentelijk in Nederland een psychoanalytische methode geïntroduceerd waarmee structurele veranderingen worden beoogd: Transference Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). Door middel van een contract dat met de patiënt is opgesteld, wordt een veilig kader gecreëerd waarin de overdracht wordt onderzocht. In de therapeutische relatie worden de geactiveerde en afgeweerde zelf- en objectvoorstellingen zichtbaar. De patiënt leert deze voorstellingen te aanvaarden als deel van zijn eigen persoon, waardoor hij een realistischer en meer geïntegreerd beeld van zichzelf en anderen ontwikkelt.

Tot deze persoonlijkheidsorganisatie rekent Kernberg de DSM-classificatie borderlinepersoonlijkheidsstoornis, maar ook bijvoorbeeld de narcistische en de schizoïde persoonlijkheidsstoornis.

Dit onderzoek werd gefinancierd door subsidie nummer OG 97-002 van het fonds voor ontwikkelingsgeneeskunde van het college voor zorgverzekeringen, toegekend aan prof. A. Arntz (projectleider, Universiteit Maastricht), prof. R. van Dyck (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) en prof. Ph. Spinhoven (Universiteit Leiden).
