Bruikbaarheid verkorte versie wisc-rn in de kinderpsychiatrie

Samenvatting:

Om een snelle schatting van het intelligentieniveau van een kind te verkrijgen, worden de subtests Woordenschat en Blokpatronen van de Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (wisc-r) vaak gebruikt. Het doel van dit onderzoek is de bruikbaarheid van deze twee subtests om het Totale iq (tiq) te schatten binnen een kinderpsychiatrische setting na te gaan. Het tiq, verbale iq en performale iq werden berekend. Regressieanalyses toonden sterke verbanden aan tussen de scores op de subtests Woordenschat en Blokpatronen en het tiq. Deze subtests kunnen worden gebruikt om een redelijke inschatting van het tiq in een kinderpsychiatrische populatie te verkrijgen. Bij kinderen bij wie exacte kennis over de cognitieve capaciteiten belangrijk is, blijft het belangrijk om een volledige wisc-r af te nemen.
