Psychodiagnostische besluitvorming in teamverband

Samenvatting

Ingegaan wordt op de resultaten en implicaties van onderzoek naar psychodiagnostiek als besluitvormingsproces. De aandacht wordt gericht op onderzoek naar psychodiagnostische besluitvorming door teams, actief binnen jeugdzorg en speciaal onderwijs. Uitgangspunt voor de bespreking vormt een door de auteurs voorgesteld ordeningsschema. Vergeleken met andere werkvelden blijkt teambesluitvorming in jeugdzorg en speciaal onderwijs nog weinig onderzocht. De beschikbare onderzoeksresultaten bevestigen die van onderzoek naar individuele diagnostische besluitvorming: de besluitvormingskwaliteit laat veel te wensen over. Dat geldt zowel voor het verloop van het besluitvormingsproces als voor de uitkomst hiervan. Er zijn echter ook enige hoopgevende resultaten. Afgerond wordt met een schets van mogelijkheden voor beslissingsondersteuning van de psychodiagnostiek als professionele hulpverleningspraktijk, en voor toekomstig onderzoek dat kan bijdragen aan kwaliteitsverbetering.

Summary

This article presents a discussion of the results and implications of research into psychodiagnostics as a decision making process. The focus is on studies of psychodiagnostic team decision making in youth care and special education. This discussion is structured on the basis of a research taxonomy proposed by the authors. In comparison with other professional areas, there are only a few studies on team decision making in youth care and special education. The results underscore those of research on individual decision making: the quality of both the process and the product of decision making is poor. However, there are also some encouraging results. The article concludes with an impression of possibilities for decesion support, and of future research to enhance the quality of psychodiagnostics as a professional activity.
