Neurotoxiciteit van opioïden

Samenvatting

Er is een stijgend aantal meldingen van neurotoxische effecten door gebruik van opioïden, meestal waargenomen bij langdurig en overenthousiast gebruik van hoge doses, zeker als er nog nierfalen, onderliggend delirium en het gebruik van andere psychoactieve medicatie aanwezig is. Het is een complex syndroom dat snelle herkenning en behandeling vraagt.
